I do a wide range of activities with the children. I get to know what they like  and use this to engage their interest develop skills and build confidence. Typical activities include: 

• Playing with a wide range of toys 
• Building and construction games and toys 
• Painting, drawing, craft and play-dough

• Puzzles and games 
• Music and dance
• Books and trips to the library 
• Cooking and making
• Activities on the computer
• Outdoor play – in the garden, or walks or visits to parks 

I am part of the Kent Quality Assurance Scheme, and have: 

• Level 3 NVQ in Children’s care, learning and development 
• Paediatric first aid
• Introduction to childcare practice 
• Children’s safeguarding training 

I keep up to date with best practice by reading relevant publications and materials, as well as doing research into specific areas and talking to other childcare professionals. I also attend workshops and undertake training regularly.
